Bill Atweh, Past Project Experience
I have visited several universities in Latin America (in particular, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina) for the purpose of conducting research, professional development activates and conferences. I have obtained a highly competitive Australian Research Council grant on Internationalisation and Globalisation of Mathematics education that resulted in several publications and the editing of an international book on the topic published by Springer.
I established strong liaisons with Asian countries (in particular, The Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand). I have assisted my University in developing Memorandum of Understanding with at least five universities in the region and two others are in the process of development. I have been able to attract at least 10 master students and 10 doctoral students into our courses.
Similarly, I am strengthening my collaborations in the Arabian region. I have visited Saudi Arabia on a few occasions to review a research centre at a university there and have been invited to be a keynote speaker at a national conference. I have five doctoral students from the region working under my supervision.
In areas of publication, I have been the key editor of several books that were published internationally with collaboration of co-editors from USA, South Africa, Germany, Brazil, The Philippines and Australia. The various chapters in this book were written by tens of educators from every continent of the world.
